The Twelve Propositions address matters of interdependence, global governance, transnational corporates, national sovereignty, and explore new frameworks for the effectiveness of governance in a context of common and differentiated responsibilities. The protection of global public goods invites a new forms of corporate and state responsibility, as exemplified in Delmas-Marty’s proposal for ‘solidarity sovereignty’.

This article works with the research paper on pathways to achieve abatement, or reductions in carbon emissions and on national responsibility levels as an approach of equity, as identified in a research paper commissioned by Kennedy Graham, NZ Green Party MP. The significance of this approach is the commitment to an economy geered to climate responsibility.
